Sala's Camp occupies prime real estate on a private concession bordering Tarangire National Park, offering unobstructed views across the Tarangire River valley. Sala's Camp sits at the southern reach of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, on the Sand River close to the Tanzanian border. It is a small, tented camp by The Safari Collection — six tents, each with its own veranda and view across the river bend.

Position is the point: this corner of the Mara is the first the wildebeest see when the herds enter from the Serengeti at the start of the Migration, and the last they leave as they head south. It is also one of the quietest parts of the reserve, well away from the central traffic, with guides who know the lions and cheetahs that work this stretch by name.
